Aave founder hints at growing ‘Twitter on Ethereum’

Aave founder Stani Kulechov told his 90,000 Twitter followers on Saturday that his platform ought to construct “Twitter on Ethereum” after Jack Dorsey mentioned he was growing a brand new Bitcoin (BTC)-centric monetary companies platform with hanging similarities to Aave. 

Dorsey tweeted Thursday that Sq. Inc., his cellular fee firm, was creating a brand new enterprise “centered on constructing an open developer platform with the only objective of creating it straightforward to create non-custodial, permissionless, and decentralized monetary companies.”

The tweet, which has obtained over 34,000 likes on the time of publication, indicated that Bitcoin could be the first focus.

In his response, Kulechov implied that Dorsey’s enterprise thought is just like Aave, an open-source, non-custodial DeFi protocol that allows customers to borrow property and earn curiosity on deposits. Whereas it’s not solely clear whether or not Kulechov’s Twitter-on-Ethereum plan is critical, he said Aave co-founder Jordan Lazaro Gustave would lead the hassle.

Dorsey’s plan to bring DeFi to Bitcoin follows an announcement from early June that Sq. is exploring the event of an open-source BTC hardware wallet. The entrepreneur has reiterated the significance of self-custody and the necessity to onboard new crypto customers via cellular expertise.
